We are excited to have you join us for the 2026 Austin International Half. We would like to give you a big HIGH FIVE for taking the initiative to become a Team Captain. Below are the basic steps to starting your journey as Team Captain.

As your team grows, so do the rewards - be sure to check out the Team Perks and see what you can score!

1. CHOOSE A TEAM NAME
You have until team registration deadline to change the Team Name, in case you come up with something cooler.

2. SET YOUR INVITE STATUS
Read below to learn more about the different options:

  • Public - Anyone can join your team in the Select Team drop list on the registration page.
  • Anyone with Link - Anyone who is forwarded a copy of the invitation link can register for your team. There is no limit to the number of people who can sign up for your team.

ONLY Public team names will appear in the Team Name drop-down menu on the registration page.

 

3. SELECT A PACKET PICK UP OPTION.
It is the responsibility of the captain to communicate with your team members if you choose the group packet pick up option. Public Teams are encouraged to choose individual packet pick up.

  • Individual - Team Members will pick up their own packets at the Expo. Their bib will be at the kiosk assigned to their bib number. 
  • Group Packet Pick Up - Team packets and event shirts will be boxed together and the team captain will be responsible for picking up the boxed items and distributing to team members. The box will include items for all members that registered before the deadline. Any members that joined the team after the deadline will pick up their items at the Packet Pick Up expo. You will not be able to pick and choose which members you pick up for. It is the responsibility of the captain to communicate to their members that they are picking up and distributing the packets. NOT recommended for public teams!

4. SUBMIT YOUR TEAM CAPTAIN REGISTRATION FORM.

5. IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE RACE, you will need to register for the event. Then you can add yourself to the team you created. Read more about adding yourself to the team on the team registration page
