The Half Distance Triathlon is on Sunday with a 1.2 mile Swim, 56 mile Bike, 13.1 mile Run. The swim is separated by age group and has a time trial start with 2 people every 2 seconds. This makes the swim less congested and improves water safety.
The bike course is two loops that goes through historic downtown and then out onto country roads. The bike portion finishes in Louise Hays Park on the Guadalupe River. From there the run course is two loops on the paved river trail under tall trees with beautiful views of the river.
The party starts at the finish line with each finisher receiving a commemorative finisher medal, reusable water bottle, and entrance to the finish line festival that features a beer garden, Texas fajita cook out, and many different vendors to visit.
